Climate and energy rally (10 September)

Dear SolarShare Supporter

Climate and Energy rally next Monday

SolarShare is supporting the Farmers for Climate action event on Monday, the 10th of September, as politicians return to Canberra, farmers and representatives of regional communities are gathering on the lawns of Parliament House for a community rally.

Why? Once again, Canberra has deposed another leader. Once again, climate and energy policy has collapsed: the critical issues of our time sidelined. Meanwhile, Eastern Australia wilts through the worst drought in living memory. With an El Nino looking more and more likely, hopes of a summer crop are evaporating for many areas, farmers and regional Australians are on the frontline of climate change.

Will you join them to ‘Break the Drought on Climate Action’?

Farmers for Climate Action is hosting the rally and are inviting locals to come along to stand in solidarity with farmers.

WHAT A snap climate action and truck procession!

WHEN 8.45am for a 9am start, Monday, 10 September.

WHERE Parliament House Lawns, Canberra

To ensure the stories and messages cut through in the media, they’ve requested that the action be unbranded. So please come in your normal clothes and without campaign specific signs and branding or go a step further and pull out your shirt or a flanny.

Many thanks,

The SolarShare team.

PS, if you haven’t already, please also remember to head to the SolarShare member survey. Its the way we keep track of how well we are progressing on fostering a community that is engaged with its energy choices and the transition to a more sustainable future. -Survey now closed-
