May News Update

I know we’ve been a bit quiet at SolarShare over the past couple of months but we’ve definitely had our noses to the grindstone working on things in the background, so here is just a little news update on what we’ve been up to.

Our main focus has been on our constitution, host site leasing documentation and financial modelling. We received a huge response to the survey we sent out on people’s preferred voting structure, many thanks to everyone who responded. We’ve got all the results in now and the board is receiving some advice from PwC on the best way to incorporate a structure that will suit the greatest number of people.

For the engineering side of things, we completed an Expressions of Interest (EOI) process in March and have just gone out to tender to a shortlist of solar providers who we are confident have the skills and experience to build our community’s solar farm.

Finally, we are collaborating with students at the University of Melbourne to find ways to improve and measure our social impact. The students have put together a short survey to collect your views on your involvement with SolarShare. We would be grateful if you could fill-in the survey here. Survey closes Sunday, 8th June.
