Community update: Our 2023 AGM, return for investors and news

Spring has sprung, and as the wattles surrounding the Mount Majura Community Solar Farm burst with yellow, there is excitement in the air.

Our next AGM has been scheduled for Friday 20 October 2023 and we are again endeavouring to make a capital return to our investors, subject to a resolution at the AGM. This will be our second disbursement to shareholders and one that signifies the Solar Farm’s strong financial position. This terrific achievement reflects our commitment to sustainable energy and the trust and support of our valued stakeholders. We look forward to continuing our mission of providing clean energy and generating returns for our investors in the years to come as we build a greener, more sustainable future.

Sheep take up residence

During winter, the McGrath family, farmers in the Majura Valley, moved some of their sheep onto our Solar Farm property. The sheep will keep the grass short, reducing the need for mowing and limiting the risks of bushfires in summer.

While the sheep were a little cautious at first, they have since become more familiar with the infrastructure around the site and have settled in well. They have certainly enjoyed munching their way through the grass on the property.

University visit

We recently hosted a tour of the Mount Majura Community Solar Farm for a group of university representatives from the School of Environment at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.

We discussed the operation of the Solar Farm, its development, and the energy transition taking place in Canberra and beyond.

The students were researching sustainable development pathways and investigating a variety of renewable energy initiatives while visiting Australia.
